Ability extends to all areas of business, industry, and government. Premise liability expert in litigation
matters for plaintiff or defense with experience gained from several hundred case engagements. Specialty in the
field of bank security. Presently a construction company Safety and Human Resources Director.
Have provided a wide range of services in the areas of administration, planning, management, operations, equipment
applications, and facility designs. Experiences include senior corporate level risk assessment studies and audits,
investigations, operational reviews, development of policies and procedures, white collar crime countermeasures,
writing and publications, training programs, event management, incident reviews, expert litigation support, guard
force and investigative staff management, etcetera. Objectives are to best manage risk, avoid loss and litigation,
upgrade existing operations, control costs, motivate personnel, limit liability, comply, recover, and improve profits.
Safety background includes construction, electrical, OSHA, NFPA, hazardous materials, lockout/tag-out, protective
equipment, falls, confined spaces, forklift, workplace and job hazard analysis, emergency and contingency planning,
fire and life safety, first aid programs, audits, and related training needs.
Experience
Work experience includes eight years as a police officer in the cities of Detroit and Kansas City, four as
a Security Specialist with the Federal Reserve Banking System, ten as a Vice President and Director of Security
and Safety for Commerce Bancshares, Inc. a large banking corporation, as an independent consultant from 1990 to
2004, and currently employed as the Safety and Human Resources Director for the Semac Electrical Contracting Company
of New Britain, Connecticut.
Education and Technical Training
Academic and professional competence includes a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Security, a second
Master of Science Degree in Industrial Safety, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Sociology: all awarded by Central Missouri State University. Board of Director certified
as a Certified Protection Professional, CPP, by the American Society for Industrial Security. Formerly designated
as a Certified Fraud Examiner, a CFE, by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Licensed private investigator
for fourteen years. Attendance of more than 4,500 classroom hours of technical schools, classes and conferences
on a wide range of topics, to include completion of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, Command College.
Author of numerous publications within the security, safety, auditing, legal and business communities, one of
which, The Investigative Process, attained the 1986 Outstanding Outside Contributor Award from the Institute of
Internal Auditors, the IIA. Co-author of the Ford Foundation research study Domestic Violence and the Police:
Studies in Detroit and Kansas City. Writer for Warren, Gorham and Lamont Publishers of New York City. Successful
independent consultant for 15 years. OSHA educational training center classes are pending.
